On December 4, 2020, the 5th cross-border e-commerce innovation and entrepreneurship competition sponsored by Wuxi Municipal Bureau of Commerce and other units was successfully concluded. The cross-border e-commerce department of Phoenix Artist Material won the second prize in this year’s competition. This is also the second time for Phoenix Artist Material to be awarded a prize since it participated in Wuxi cross border e-commerce innovation and entrepreneurship competition in 2018.

China (Wuxi) Cross-Border e-Commerce Comprehensive Test Zone Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition has been held for five consecutive times, it has incubated nearly 200 cross-border e-commerce SMEs and about 50 student teams. It has played an important role in accelerating the construction of China (Wuxi) Cross-Border e-Commerce Comprehensive Experimental Zone, cultivating new business forms of foreign trade, and cultivating cross-border e-commerce talents. There were 46 corporate teams, 43 student teams, and nearly 300 people participating in this competition. The sales products cover advantageous industrial belts such as automobile and motorcycle parts, home textiles, and clothing, and involve traditional foreign trade, manufacturing and processing, domestic e-commerce and other industries.
As the competition continued to advance, a large number of outstanding cross-border e-commerce companies emerged in the competition. Among them, Phoenix Artist Material has participated in the training of the competition for three consecutive times, achieving a breakthrough in sales from 680,000 U.S. dollars in 2018 to 10 million U.S. dollars in 2020, a year-on-year increase of more than 300%. Heng Yang Trading has transformed from traditional trade to cross-border e-commerce for 3 years. Through the training and learning of the competition, the company’s sales on Amazon have achieved a growth of more than 5 times during the Black Friday of this year.
According to the relevant person in charge of the Municipal Bureau of Commerce, the competition aims to further stimulate the enthusiasm of enterprises for innovation and entrepreneurship, focus on cultivating new forms of foreign trade, accelerate the transformation and upgrading of traditional enterprises, establish a number of successful cross-border e-commerce typical enterprises, cultivate a number of cross-border e-commerce innovation and entrepreneurship talents, and create a good atmosphere for the development of cross-border e-commerce in Wuxi. "With the rapid development of cross-border e-commerce as a new mode of global trade, it plays a more and more important role in promoting international trade facilitation and reducing transaction costs, accelerating the reconstruction of global production chain, supply chain, trade chain and value chain, and is becoming an important support for the construction of an open world economy." said the relevant person in charge.
